Sometimes you find an artist that takes you through a musical journey, Billy Joel is that artist for me. The album was released in 1977, but I did not get seriously into music until I left school in the summer of ’78.
Album number 4 is Billy Joel’s “The Stranger”
I’m sure most people have music in their collection that they can’t remember where they first heard a certain artist or group. Cary Brothers is that artist. All I remember is the album appearing in my collection, maybe I heard a track from a movie or TV show (there has been a lot of Cary Brothers music used that way) I’m still not sure.
Anyway the next album is “Under Control” by Cary Brothers, an incredible solo writer/singer that I have grown to love. Check out “Ghost Town”, “Alien” or “Someday” for a sample of this guys work.
The difficult second album comes to mind. Thunder are one of my favourite bands of all time, certainly the band I have seen live on many occasions, my wife still remembers when I got front row seats for us both without warning her..
With a massive body of quality work is was very hard to pick one album from Thunder. It could have been the début “Back Street Symphony” or maybe “Shooting at the Sun” another favourite, but after blasting some great memories through the stereo my personnel pick is “Laughing on Judgement Day” album number 2 is in the book…
